So you want to learn how to become a successful affiliate marketer? You have heard how millions of dollars can be made with affiliate marketing. You have heard how easy it is to make unlimited cash through affiliate marketing.

Affiliate marketing on the internet has exploded over the past few years. Even as recently as five to six years ago, there weren't that many affiliate programs around.
But this has also led to tons of competition for affiliate marketers. So how do you set yourself apart in order to build a successful affiliate marketing business?
Previously, you could just promote your affiliate link on your site or social media platforms, sending people directly to the merchant's web site and collect your commission. With the increase competition in the affiliate marketing field this is becoming harder and harder to do.
Here in this post, I will be sharing with you how you can become a powerful affiliate marketer by revealing to you some secrets strategies shared by some affiliate marketers who are making millions secretly and don’t want you to know about them.
I was privilege to conduct an online interview with some successful affiliate marketers and also followed others closely and here are what I came out with if you want to become a powerful affiliate marketer.

1.Knowing your audience 
   This is very crucial if you really want to become a successful affiliate marketer and make good money. You can't fulfill your potential customers' needs unless you know what it is they're looking for.
Imagine walking into a shoe store with the intention of buying a black shoe. The sales clerk walks over and starts trying to sell you a pair of pants, brown shoes, and a bowtie. Would you be sold?
The internet is similar in that the market is absolutely saturated with products, where your target audience may be looking for something specific. Affiliate marketers need to identify people who would be genuinely interested in the products being marketed to them.
Put yourself in your audience’s shoe and promote products that can solve their problems and meet their needs. That way, your affiliate marketing business will have a positive turnaround.

2.Own a website
   Most people use the internet these days to first search for products before making purchase. If you create a website for your affiliate business and work on your SEO, you are likely to be found easily on search engines.
Having a site also gives you the opportunity to provide information on topic and then recommend products that fit that topics to your readers.Try to get your own domain name which is short and easy to remember.
   You wouldn't expect a visitor to remember a long URL. With the millions upon millions of domain names registered today and being registered every day, it is becoming increasingly difficult to achieve this, but with a little creativity and determination, it can be done.

3.You should have a list
   You must have heard of the popular saying that there is money in the list. Creating a list is not just about having subscribers that you can be promoting your affiliate products to, it requires more than that.
   Nobody like to be sold to, not even you. The rule on experiencing success with email list is about building strong relationship and the best way to do that is by always providing information that are useful to your subscribers.
   Don’t just see them as numbers because they are human beings who just believe that you have something of value to offer them. Remember why they subscribe to your list in the first place. Give them what you promised them.
   Provide information in the areas of your affiliate products so it can be easy for you to recommend products to them.
   Find ways to promote your newsletter as much as you can. The more subscribers you have on your list, the more successful and powerful your business.

4. Participate in Chat Rooms and Forums
   Chat rooms or forums may have been something that you ignored at one time. If so, it is high time you start to focus your attention to them. There are many forums in all sorts of areas. Try to find one that is related to your affiliate product and join in the discussions.
 You do not have to promote your affiliate product at once, and certainly read the Terms and Conditions of the forum or chat site with regards to promoting affiliate products beforehand. Some forums have specific areas on the board for affiliate promotions.
If you have thoroughly researched the area of your affiliate product, you will be able to offer sound advice or expertise. You will find the chance to promote and advertise your affiliate product as you go along.
You may be able to add your affiliate links in your signature line, but again, be sure to read the Terms and Conditions of the specific forum.

5.Set Sales Goals
   This is one best way to become a successful affiliate marketer. Setting goal motivate you to want to take action. If no goals are set, then you have nothing to top. Let's say you set a goal to obtain 5 sales within your first week, after successfully obtaining those you could set the next week's goals to 15 sales. This is a method that has worked for many and will definitely work for you. It keeps you motivated.
